Description
Vetiver is a tropical plant of the Graminaceae family and is native to India.
The plant does not look like much with its large green tufts like those of citronnella and lemon grass, but its roots which grow up to 4-5 meters deep in the soil, smell pleasantly good.
Vetiver is growing more and more popular in modern perfumery and home fragrance.
Also called “Khas khas grass”, the roots of vetiver are distilled to produce essential oil whose benefits are numerous:
Aromatherapy for example uses vetiver to sooth anxiety and insomnia, to boost immunity and to promote mental clarity.
That is why it is known to be the “Oil of Tranquility” for its calming effects.
